{"id":175,"date":"2026-03-31T14:34:45","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T06:34:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ascendrecruitment.sg\/en-sg\/?p=175"},"modified":"2026-03-31T14:34:45","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T06:34:45","slug":"educational-therapist-locum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ascendrecruitment.sg\/en-sg\/index.php\/2026\/03\/31\/educational-therapist-locum\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Therapist &#8211; LOCUM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Job Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plan and deliver lessons in individual or small group settings to support children\u2019s diverse learning needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct informal and formal assessments to evaluate and monitor children\u2019s developmental and academic progress<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and adapt teaching strategies and instructional materials tailored to meet the needs of young learners with developmental or learning challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Track and document children\u2019s progress through detailed case notes and progress reports, and regularly share updates with parents through text, photos, and videos<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate Parent-Teacher Conferences at the end of each term to discuss children\u2019s learning and development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Actively engage in curriculum design, resource development, action research, and pilot studies to enhance instructional effectiveness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in awareness talks and training workshops to promote understanding of educational therapy and support techniques<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure holistic development and learning for each child<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Educational Background<\/strong>: Degree graduate. Completed a minimum 40-hour course providing theoretical knowledge and practical skills for literacy support to learners with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), with at least 10 practicum hours logged. E.g., Certificate in Dyslexia &amp; Literacy Teaching, Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs, Specialist Diploma in SpLD, Diploma in Special Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Registration Requirement<\/strong>: Must be registered at the Member level with the Register of Educational Therapists (Asia) (RETA), demonstrating adherence to educational therapy standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assessment Skills<\/strong>: Ability to administer and interpret standardized assessments to develop targeted intervention plans for learning and developmental needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Teaching Proficiency<\/strong>: Ability to teach Literacy and\/or Mathematics up to PSLE and\/or \u2018O\u2019 level curriculum standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Specialized Training<\/strong>: Training in literacy and phonics programs such as the Orton-Gillingham Approach, Jolly Phonics, or Dyscalculia and numeracy teaching is advantageous<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Experience with Diverse Needs<\/strong>: At least 2 years of prior teaching experience conducting literacy and\/numeracy intervention to children who have developmental or learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, or mild autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
